From 1914, five of the brothers of the large Maserati family were involved in automobiles in one way or another, building, producing or driving Grand Prix cars. In 1926, Diatto Maserati ceased production of race cars and produced the first Maserati Marque. Mario Maserati designed the Trident Logo, and Alferi Maserati won the 1926 Targa Florio race in one of the first Maserati Production cars.
